Homeownership - A Reachable Goal

Buying a home and paying off the mortgage before retirement is one of the key strategies targeted toward building the wealth and well-being of families and neighborhoods in the Greater Kansas City area. Neighborhood Housing Services of Kansas City, Inc. (NHS) teaches people how to qualify for mortgage loans through our Homebuyer Education Program.

NHS’ Homebuyer Education Program offers educational seminars and loan referral services. Participants learn how to:

• prepare pre- and post-purchase budgets;
• review credit report and update information as needed;
• comparison shop for the best mortgage; and
• develop a plan for success.

The total program cost is $30.00 per family. This cost includes the homebuyer education seminar, a credit report, credit scores, and subsequent mortgage planning sessions. Sign up today by calling (816) 822-7703, ext. 225.
